Nearly 400 guests at the 2004 DIY Industry Awards witnessed the presentation of the Best in Class Power Tools award to Black & Decker for the LaserStorm corded drill.
The judges made the following comments on the winning power tool:
'This is very trendy looking! Its a nice drill and looks heavy duty although its fairly light for its size. It has a good grip. Its gadgetry and theres a big market for anything with a laser function - its saves having to mess around measuring and making pencil markings
Hosted by the TV presenter Lucy Alexander, the presentations took place in the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London.
Alistair Roberts, Head of UK Marketing accepted the award on behalf of the company.
