Achieving perfect levels when tackling home improvement tasks is now even easier thanks to the introduction of three new laser levels to the range from Black & Decker®. The enhanced laser level collection now comprises six precision instruments which combine to make slanted shelves, misaligned kitchen units and askew wallpaper things of the past.
The first of the new lasers is the stunningly versatile LaserCross. The compact unit not only projects horizontal and vertical lines but can also, at the flick of a switch, display an illuminated cross hair on a surface 6m away. LaserCross is the perfect solution for tasks that not only require straight lines, but would also benefit from right angles too, such as tiling, hanging cupboards, door framing and electrical and plumbing work.
It levels automatically, and the laser apertures are cleverly slotted to project a dotted line when out-of-true or tolerances. An easy-to-use, but sophisticated, wall-mounting unit allows precision vertical and rotational adjustments, while the laser can also be mounted on a camera tripod for free-standing use.
The Black & Decker® LaserPlus also levels automatically and projects horizontal lines up to 3.7m to both sides of the unit. It has been enhanced with the incorporation of both a stud detector and metal pipe and an always on live wire detector. This makes for faster and extra safe fixing thanks to the ability to locate wall studs in dry walls, pipework and AC wires hidden in walls.
Laser3 is a new handy manual laser designed to provide quick, easy levelling straight from the pocket or tool box and can be used on or off a wall.
When being used off the wall, for projecting horizontal and vertical lines onto walls or ceilings, Laser3 can be set on a work surface where its robust metal underside provides a firm, stable footing or mounted on it versatile free-standing base. The base allows for accurate micro-adjustments assisted by three in-built spirit levels in seconds. When being used in this fashion, Laser3 is ideal for applications such as aligning wallpaper, lighting or fixing shelves.
For additional siting flexibility and when preferable, it can also be mounted onto stud or masonry walls again to project a line across or up a wall thanks to its quick mounting hanging cones. Spot on positioning of fixings is also made easier with the projection of a bright reference dot in the centre of the line.
The three new lasers perfectly complement the existing range of two automatic levelling and one manual laser. Of the automatic levelling lasers, Laser3600 projects a 3600 solid laser line around the whole room, while the Laser900 uses two laser beams to provide horizontal and vertical levels at 900. The manual Laser1 is a handy tool-box item, perfect for projecting vertical and horizontal lines for basic applications such as fixing skirting boards or hanging pictures.
Perfect levels are crucial for the successful completion of the vast majority of home improvement projects Achieving them is now even easier thanks to the comprehensive laser level range from Black & Decker® which delivers straight lines, every time, time after time.
