was unable to remove the base plate so returned first one thinking it may be faulty same problem with the second one. So never got to try the sander. The idea is brilliant but base plate removal needs sorting.

could not get the sanding base off the sand. had to use wd40 and some brute force. this is apparently a common design fault according to previous reviews?
